Silverton Lions Club Harvest Breakfast

Saturday & Sunday morning at the Lions Club Pavilion in Coolidge-McClaine Park. The Silverton Lions, with the help of local Boy Scout Troop 485, will be serving breakfast both days, starting in the morning at 7:00 am until 12:00 noon. The menu includes pancakes, eggs cooked to order, ham, and beverages priced at $7.00 for adults, $4.00 for children age 10 and under.

MORE THAN GREAT FOOD! - A great tradition continues this year as the Silverton Lions Club hosts another “Harvest Breakfast.” The breakfast was built upon an old Silverton tradition which was started long ago by farming families in the area who banded together to help each other at harvest time. The work crews started their day with a hearty breakfast. Eventually, when harvesting practices changed, the tradition waned. The Lions decided to revive the tradition and the “Harvest Breakfast” became an annual event and fund-raiser. Funds generated by this and other activities go to many programs benefiting the Silverton community. The main program of the service club is assisting people with sight and hearing needs. Lions purchase eye glasses and hearing aids for children and adults who cannot otherwise afford them. Another community project funded by the Silverton Lions Club was the construction of the Park dining pavilion and kitchen.
